If you missed Sunday's game, here's the short version. Head coach Mike LaFleur named Gardner Minshew the starting quarterback Monday, a day after Minshew rallied Arizona past the Cowboys. Jacoby Brissett drops to third string, and rookie Carson Beck becomes the backup.

The Cardinals beat the Cowboys 33-30 in overtime

  • Arizona Cardinals33 (won)
    Dallas Cowboys30
Final (OT)Arizona trailed 17-3 late in the third quarter when Minshew entered.
  • Two plays in: Tyler Allgeier's 63-yard touchdown run
  • Tying score: 13-yard pass to Michael Wilson, six seconds left
  • Winner: Chad Ryland's 42-yard overtime field goal
  • Next up: the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9

LaFleur said pulling Brissett was meant to generate a “spark.” Brissett had started every game this season and, in seven and a half games as the starter, averaged 5.6 yards per attempt, the worst mark in the NFL.
