  • The Glendale Historical Society told how the city changed from unpaved streets with horses in 1910 to a lively area with landmarks like the 1909 Gillett Building and events such as the 1921 storm that changed local buildings.  The Arizona Republic

  • A Glendale family lost everything when a fire burned down their apartment on Thanksgiving Day; they escaped safely and are now staying in an Airbnb while raising funds for a new home via a GoFundMe campaign.  ABC 15

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A new $22 million Child Development Center will be built at Luke AFB to ease child care challenges for military families in Glendale. The on-base facility, advocated by Senators Gallego and Kelly, is expected to serve 250 to 300 children (infants, toddlers, and preschoolers).  Glendale Independent
  • The Palo Verde Fiesta Sports Foundation Wishes for Teachers initiative donated $1.5 million to 540 Arizona teachers, including several Glendale educators, with $2,500 classroom wishes each. The program celebrated its 10th anniversary by reaching 404 schools across 142 districts to boost supplies and learning.  Glendale Independent
