COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Mel Martin, owner of the Martin Auto Museum, will serve as grand marshal for the 12th Hometown Christmas Parade at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 in historic downtown Glendale with a route from 52nd & 58th Avenue. Community members are invited to join and bring donations for the food drive.  Glendale Independent

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Niu Mama Kitchens opened in Glendale in August as a cafeteria-style food hall featuring five diverse eateries, and it offers dishes (from chicken wings to dumplings) that give locals fresh dining choices.  The Arizona Republic

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Glendale has updated road closures and restrictions for fiber work and landscaping improvements on several streets. The closures run through mid-December on 64th Drive at John Cabot, 52nd Avenue at Westcott, 59th Avenue near Paradise Lane + 54th Avenue, so drivers should plan alternative routes.  Glendale Independent

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Arizona Cardinals lost 45-17 to the Rams on Sunday at their home field, with the score tied at 10-all in the second quarter before surrendering 35 unanswered points. Coach Jonathan Gannon said the team will address its defensive issues as it prepares to face the Texans on Sunday.  Glendale Independent
