- ➤ The Fraternal Order of Police, Glendale Lodge 12, will lead its annual frozen turkey drive on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 7 to 9 a.m. Trucks will be staged at the Main, Gateway, and Foothills Police Stations — local grocery stores will also host volunteers to collect donations — with all proceeds going to Hope For Hunger Food Bank. - ➤ Glendale Boys & Girls Club, Louis and Elizabeth Sands Branch got new technology from Cox Communications when Super Bowl LI champion Malcolm Mitchell led the ribbon cutting and read his book 'A World Within Reach' to the children, giving each one a copy. Cox is partnering with the club to open Innovation Labs that offer hands-on STEM learning and a new reading nook for doing homework. The Glendale Star

- ➤ Mountain Ridge's cross country team finished second in the state Division I meet on Nov.15 at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix by scoring 117 points to Gilbert Highland's 91+ a result that surprised many as they were once the favorites.
