- ➤ Northwest Valley resident Sean Ward is a senior vice president at BNC National Bank who uses his love for football to give back to the community through the Fiesta Sports Foundation—he leads media operations, volunteers, and community grant programs for nonprofits in Arizona. He earned the 2019 Yellow Jacket Rookie of the Year award and this year he will serve as assistant chair for game officials to further his community impact. The Glendale Star

- ➤ Spencer’s TV and Appliance store on Bell Road is busy as manager Patrick Gleason said the store now offers Black Friday pricing all November rather than just on one day—he noted that about 90 to 91 percent of sales come from appliances even as the store also sells TVs and mattresses. - ➤ At Tuesday night’s governing board meeting, Deer Valley Unified School District approved a 15% maintenance and operations override for seven years. Superintendent Curtis Finch said the new funding will support school resources (including staff salaries) and help plan future changes as the population in northern areas grows. Glendale Independent
