- ➤ Glendale announced on Nov 14 that its beloved holiday tradition, Glendale Glitters, will return during a two-day event on Nov 28 and 29 from 5-10 p.m. Downtown Glendale will feature interactive displays, local vendors, carolers and an official lighting ceremony at 5:45 p.m. in front of the Civic Center—inviting families to celebrate the season. - ➤ A group of Glendale High School alumni, mostly from the 1977 baseball team (the 'knuckleheads'), have met twice a year in a local garage to honor their old school, and some former coaches have joined the gatherings. Glendale Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Deer Valley Unified School District Board Member Kimberly Fisher was found in violation of Open Meeting Law (OML) after sharing confidential executive session details, and the board will use an attorney hired with (taxpayer dollars) to lead training for its members. The training will help prevent future meeting rule breaches. The Glendale Star

- ➤ Cactus senior receiver Junior Bell made big plays early in the season—he ran 82 yards for a touchdown in the opener at Mountain Ridge and scored all four touchdowns in a 28-27 win over Millennium with a mix of runs, receptions and kickoff returns.
