EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Deer Valley Unified School District received letter grades for the 2024-25 school year, with 93% of its 42 schools earning a grade of B or higher and 27 schools earning an A. Superintendent Curtis Finch said the strong scores came from experienced leadership—yet funding challenges continue to strain resources in the district. The Glendale Star
- ➤ Glendale Elementary School District employee Ulises Montes earned the De Todo Corazón award from the Arizona Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents for his selfless leadership—benefiting students, families and staff. A lifelong community member who once served as a school secretary, Montes now volunteers with programs such as Market on the Move and food box distribution—demonstrating his ongoing commitment to education. - ➤ Camelback Ranch-Glendale announced its 30-game 2026 schedule on Nov. 5 — the plan calls for Opening Day matchups on Feb. 21 with the Athletics facing the White Sox and on Feb. 23 when the Dodgers host the Mariners.
