- ➤ Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers and Ocotillo District Councilmember Leandro Baldenegro invite residents to a dedication ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at Veteranos Park—located next to the Glendale Community Center at 5401 W. Ocotillo Road—to honor veterans; the event will include the installation of three illuminated flagpoles and the awarding of long-overdue medals to Army veteran Matt Madrid, with remarks from local dignitaries. - ➤ NBA YoungBoy will perform in Glendale on Nov. 6 as part of his MASA Tour at Desert Diamond Arena. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.—the show starts at 7 p.m. with resale tickets available starting at $111.15. The Arizona Republic
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Arizona’s new law, Senate Bill 1241, now requires dog owners to give their name and contact info when their dog bites someone, so victims can quickly learn vaccination and insurance details. Offenders who do not stay are at risk of a Class 2 misdemeanor with a fine up to $750 or up to four months in jail — though jail time is rare if the act is unintentional. Glendale Independent
