- ➤ Glendale Public Library is hosting a Teen Art Studio from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, November 6 at its main branch on 5959 W. Brown St. where teenagers ages 12-18 work on art projects and experiment with various supplies—this event is held on the first Thursday of each month. Glendale Independent

- ➤ On Wednesday, the Arizona State Board of Education released letter grades for the 2024–25 school year and Deer Valley Unified earned an overall A with 93% of its schools rated A or B, with Mirage Elementary in Glendale moving up to a B rating under Principal Bobbi Cerro. All five high schools maintained their A scores and Barry Goldwater High School was named Arizona’s first Model PLC High School—showing the district’s focus on improvement. Glendale Independent
- ➤ Independence High School Marching Band is hosting a classic car show fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 13 to support its music program and Hispanic student scholarships. The band has raised $530 so far — half for the program and half for Chicanos por la Causa student scholarships — and will perform at the Marching Band Invitational at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3 at Glendale Community College.
