- ➤ Eyemart Express donated nearly $100,000 worth of frames and glasses accessories to Glendale charity EyeCare4Kids on Oct. 9 in honor of World Sight Day — the contribution, which includes 834 frames and 2,001 accessories, will help children in low-income areas get free eye exams and clear vision for school success. - ➤ Rush has expanded its reunion tour by adding 17 new cities—including a stop at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Dec. 1—and fans can sign up for the artist presale by 8:59 p.m. on Oct. 23; presale tickets will begin at noon on Oct. 27 with general tickets on sale at noon on Oct. 31. - ➤ Tickets for multi-platinum singer-songwriter Conan Gray’s Wishbone World Tour with special guest Esha Tewari are on sale this week in Glendale—general sales begin at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24. The global tour will reach Desert Diamond Arena in the West Valley on March 13. Glendale Independent

- ➤ On October 18, thousands gathered along Bell Road in the Northwest Valley for No Kings protests that were part of a national series of peaceful demonstrations. Organized by five local groups, volunteers counted about 8,061 participants across 10 protest sites in the 8th Congressional District — with only a few minor incidents reported. Glendale Independent

- ➤ Tomorrow, International Stuttering Awareness Day will honor the 70 million people who stutter and call for understanding instead of judgment. Glendale native Kaleb Brown, a job coach with the Hope Group and a member of the National Stuttering Association, said he learned to view his stutter as a strength — a change that has helped him build resilience.
