- ➤ Laufey will perform her A Matter of Time Tour at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Sept. 23 with opening act Suki Waterhouse; doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets were available starting at $64.10 as of Sept. 16—guests must follow a strict bag and security policy to help ensure safety—at the venue. - ➤ Today at 11 a.m. a memorial service for slain Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk will be held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale—Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said her office will defend the rights of mourners and peaceful protesters. Kirk was shot during a rally at Utah State University on Sept. 10. Glendale Independent

- ➤ Cactus defense made a strong start when senior linebacker Jordan Marrufo intercepted a pass after Peoria receiver David Rojas ran 40 yards from the kickoff—giving the Cobras a 35-6 halftime lead before they won 48-14 on Sept. 19—while slowing Peoria’s running game. Glendale Independent
- ➤ West Valley Prep Week 4 football scores showed strong results on Sept. 19 as Shadow Ridge beat Valley Vista 38–29, Centennial won 28–7 over Queen Creek, and Liberty defeated ALA-Queen Creek 48–7.
