- ➤ Porsche Arrowhead opened on September 8 at 8330 W. Bell Road on Glendale’s western terminus—owner Richard Cvijanovich confirmed the construction finished on budget and met the target date. The dealership was scheduled to open a week after Labor Day as planned. Glendale Independent

- ➤ Glendale Historical Society received a statewide award in the 2025 Al Mérito Awards for its work preserving local history—its recognition will be celebrated at the annual meeting at the Arizona History Museum in Tucson on Sept. 26. Glendale Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Glendale will hold three open houses for informational meetings on its November 4 bond election held before the Oct. 6 registration deadline and Oct. 8 ballot mailing. The meetings are set for Sept. 25 at the Glendale Civic Center (5750 W. Glenn Drive), Sept. 30 at the Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center (5600 W. Union Hills Drive), and Oct. 2 at the Glendale Main Library (5959 W. Brown St) with bond question 1 offering $30 million for flood control and question 2 requesting $35 million to upgrade city facilities. Glendale Independent

- ➤ The Arizona Cardinals won a close game against the Panthers 27-22 Sunday but lost a big lead and several players to injuries — coach Jonathan Gannon said the team will work to finish games better as they prepare to face the 49ers next.
