- ➤ Arrowhead Farmers Market will move on Oct. 4 from its longtime spot outside Arrowhead Towne Center to a new site at Dream City Church, 21000 75th Ave — where it will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays from October through April. For the rest of September, the market will meet outside the mall from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays. Glendale Independent
- ➤ The Black Chamber of Arizona will host its 27th Anniversary Pinnacle Pathways Gala on Dec. 13 at the Sheraton Glendale Renaissance Ballroom. Presented by ASU and Arizona Public Service, the gala will support youth development, small-business expansion, workforce readiness, and justice-impacted entrepreneurship as over 500 leaders attend — marking its first time in Glendale after moving from Tempe. - ➤ Glendale has received a higher bond rating from AA to AA plus from S&P Global Ratings, which shows its strong fiscal management and growing economy. City officials say this improved rating confirms that the city is on a solid and sustainable financial path. Glendale Independent
- ➤ The Arizona Supreme Court is reviewing a proposal that would let graduates complete a one-year criminal law program and a nine-month supervision period before handling criminal cases—an effort to boost the number of legal practitioners in rural areas. - ➤ The Carolina Panthers lost by a score of 26 to 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in their season opener and will soon face the Arizona Cardinals, a team they have beaten seven out of eight times. - ➤ Local high school cross country coaches shared team goals and key runner details in a preview requested by West Valley Preps, Glendale Independent and Peoria Independent. - ➤ Arizona Cardinals are set to face the Carolina Panthers Sunday at 4:05 p.m. on CBS as the Cardinals aim for a 2-0 start after a 20-13 win while the Panthers have won seven of the last eight games since 2015 plus both teams are affected by injuries with Joey Blount on injured reserve and Turk Wharton sidelined.
