Lisa Baker of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty has stepped away from board duties to serve as interim president and CEO of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce—she will lead the chamber while Waverly Partners conducts a search for a permanent leader.

Glendale’s new deputy city manager Thomas Adkins will begin his role on August 25 and plans to meet city council members to learn their priorities—he brings over 20 years of government experience and a long history of public service, including a start as a library clerk at 16 and serving as a vice president for the Arizona Board of Regents. His experience will help guide efforts to support the city's continued growth.

Cactus High has 137 of its 1,032 students playing football, and Coach Brian Belles said the team will be deeper this season to give players more rest.
