- ➤ Glendale Main Library is hosting a Family Night on Monday, Aug 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the library (5959 W. Brown St.) where families with children age 8 and older will make beaded friendship bracelets. The library will also hold a Sahuaro Ranch Acoustic Jam on Sunday, Aug 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. for guests aged 18 and older to play their acoustic instruments in a round-robin style. Glendale Independent
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 13-year-old Mountain Ridge student died when he was hit by a pickup truck near 67th Avenue and Hillcrest Boulevard on Aug. 1 — he was riding his bike in a crosswalk without a helmet and the driver remained at the scene with no signs of impairment. The Glendale Star
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Glendale teen was arrested after police and the FBI say he used Snapchat and TikTok to solicit explicit images from children in multiple states—and he is now held on a $750,000 cash-only bond as investigators continue to search for additional victims. ABC 15

- ➤ Glendale’s Desert Diamond Arena debuts its $42M renovation this weekend with Chris Stapleton’s concert, featuring upgraded suites and new premium spaces — the project shifted the focus from sports to music after the Coyotes left. Additional concerts are scheduled later this month and next. KTAR
