- ➤ A Glendale bicycle crash on Tuesday at 3:15 a.m. left a woman critically injured and in hospital near Bethany Home Road as traffic is blocked from 63rd to 67th avenues — police report that the vehicle driver remained at the scene and was not impaired. KTAR
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Chris Stapleton will perform two concerts at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Aug. 8 and Aug. 9—featuring Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives as the opening act. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the shows will start at 7:30 p.m. while verified resale tickets are available. The Arizona Republic
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Glendale teachers are eligible for the SRP Touchdowns for Teachers program — two educators will earn a $500 grant each time the Cardinals score during the regular season. The NFL season starts in New Orleans on Sept. 7 and the first home game in Glendale is on Sept. 14, and the grants help pay for classroom needs. Glendale Independent

- ➤ Glendale finished $42 million renovations to Desert Diamond Arena early this month (a private media preview was held today) and the upgraded venue now offers new fan amenities, expanded food options, and premium spaces like the Bassline Bar, Encore Club on Three, Studio 623 and The View Lounge & Bar. The arena will host country singer Chris Stapleton for two sold-out concerts on Aug. 8 and Aug. 9 (the mayor said the upgrades are designed to attract major events). Glendale Independent
- ➤ Maricopa County today offers a free, self-paced online Workforce Professional Skills course for residents who want to improve their job skills. Participants who complete the five-module course and score at least 80% on the final exam will earn a digital badge — a key credential for their resumes — as part of the county's effort to boost workforce readiness.
