- ➤ Foothills Recreation and Aquatic Center on 5600 W. Union Hills Drive will host beginner country line dance and beginner belly dance classes on Aug. 7 — the line dance runs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and the belly dance runs from 6 to 7 p.m., with fees of $60 for residents and $70 for non-residents for each eight-week course. - ➤ A 21-year-old woman died after being struck in a hit-and-run near West Bell Road in Glendale on June 23 at around 9 p.m., and police arrested Katiya Clark (25) who allegedly left the scene in a damaged 2018 Buick Envision without stopping. The Glendale Star
- ➤ Glendale police arrested multiple people in connection with the homicide of 30-year-old Grant Siefert, who was found stabbed nearly two dozen times near 55th and Peoria avenues last November—authorities declined to reveal more as the investigation remains active. AZ Family

- ➤ Glendale Public Library will host a writer in residence program from August through October that offers one-on-one consultations and creative workshops led by poets Rosemarie Dombrowski and Shawnte Orion.
