Good morning, Glendale.

Glendale celebrates 623 Day today as local businesses, restaurants, and shops offer specials such as $6.23 food items (Bitz-ee Mama’s and others start deals on Tuesday and Wednesday) to attract customers.

Local opinion letters have been published addressing complaints about jet noise over the West Valley as critics argue that living near Luke Air Force Base means accepting the sound of training jets while supporters emphasize the base’s vital role and long history since 1941 – with some noting that its operations help generate a significant economic impact. Multiple voices in the community insist that buying a home near the base comes with the established reality of noise and national defense.
