- ➤ Several new shops have opened in Glendale as Dutch Bros began serving customers at 5940 N. 75th Ave. at The Shops at 75th retail center + Nothing Bundt Cakes, Cali Tacos Restaurant, BeBa Nails & Spa, and a BeMobile Verizon store also opened there, while Cabinets 4 Less opened on W. Bell Road and Dick’s House of Sport received its license for a new location near Westgate, and Fabletics will celebrate its grand opening on May 31. Glendale Independent
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Chef Larry Canepa will lead a free Street Life event Monday, June 2 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. at Foothills Branch Library at 19055 N. 57th Ave. in Glendale where adults can sample international street foods and learn to make the dishes—earlier that day the library will host Big Band Grandstand from 1 to 3 p.m. for musicians and listeners. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Glendale Community College broke ground on a new Innovation Lab on the northeast corner of its campus in late April and will complete the facility in April 2026. The lab will support courses in engineering, robotics, and automation by providing facilities such as a virtual reality classroom, computer lab, and professional workshop—designed by Holly Street Studio and built by Danson Construction.
