GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ryan Lee, a veteran city leader, was named Glendale’s new director of transportation on Thursday after interim director Purab Adabala returned to deputy director. He will run the city's airport, transit, and road projects and lead plans for a capital improvement project funded by $151 million.  Glendale Independent
  • Glendale voters approved Prop 402 and rejected Prop 401 in a special election concerning the VAI Resort. Campaigns issued statements Thursday evening after updated vote totals from Maricopa County Elections were released — leaving the resort’s future impact to be determined.  Glendale Independent
  • Glendale City Council approved staff to continue a feasibility study for a shooting range partnership with Luke Air Force Base—officials will review potential city land sites and funding options to enhance police training during hot summer months. Staff will share additional details with the council in the coming months.  The Glendale Star
