- ➤ Tyrone "Ducky" Tyre Wilson, 22, died after falling six stories at Glendale's VAI Resort in 2024 when he used a ladder on a scissor lift improperly—his employer E and E Cos. violated ADOSH standards and faces a fine up to $27,423. The Arizona Republic

- ➤ Glendale Community College is building an Innovation Lab in its northeast corner under the leadership of Dean Susan Campbell + STEM Connect Program Manager Elena Beltran. - ➤ Early unofficial results from Glendale’s special election on the VAI Resort project show Proposition 401 with 50.27% no votes to 49.73% and Proposition 402 with 51.68% yes votes among 25,922 ballots cast at a 20.92% turnout, and if both measures pass — one allowing office buildings south of Cardinals Way and the other changing zoning rules — the project will continue with plans for a 1,100-room hotel and 60-acre entertainment complex planned to open later this year; otherwise, the project could be halted.
