- ➤ The family of Albert Gonzales and Juan Gomez still seeks justice nearly six years after the brothers were shot at 5:30 a.m. while sleeping at a friend's home on August 18th, 2019 in Glendale—police say the case remains active and encourage anyone with information to come forward. ABC 15
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A new metro events calendar lists a variety of upcoming activities across the Phoenix area from art walks and ballet shows to charity softball games and festivals. The calendar features local events such as AEW Double Or Nothing on May 25 and Nitro Circus “Off the Rails” Tour on Dec. 5—offering Glendale residents many choices for fun outings. KTAR

- ➤ On May 13, Glendale unveiled 30 acres of redeveloped park space with eight pickleball courts, the city’s first lighted synthetic field, two natural grass multi-use fields, a dog park and a play structure—an upgrade that is part of a $22 million project begun in May 2024. The park, which now spans 81 acres and features an archery range and an X-court, may later add a recreation and aquatic center—pending further funding. The Glendale Star
