- ➤ Downtown Glendale staple Drawn to Comics and the Velma Teague Branch Library will host Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can join a scavenger hunt (a featured activity) and meet local comic book artists and authors while collecting free comics. - ➤ Glendale was honored by the Arizona Association for Economic Development as the 2026 Economic Development Organization of the Year during a spring conference in Tucson — Deputy Director Lori German said the award reflects the city’s focus on business support and economic growth. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Pioneer Elementary School celebrated 50 years on April 23 with student performances and art displays while preparing to close at the end of the school year.
