EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Glendale Community College held its annual athletic banquet where four student athletes were honored for their sports and academic success. Tyren (Ty) Gibbs earned praise for his 3.75 GPA and will graduate in May with an associate of arts degree in social work along with an honors scholarship. Glendale Independent
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Glendale has sometimes cut recycling contamination from nearly 30% in October 2022 to 20% as it works toward a 2025 target. Deputy director Michael Carr (joining when the goal was set) now directs field operations. Glendale Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Arizona Department of Gaming launched a free, self-paced Responsible Gaming Training for the public to learn safe play practices and recognize risks (includes quizzes and about three hours of content).
