- ➤ Target is restarting its semi-annual car seat trade-in program from April 27 to May 10 where shoppers can bring old car seats to a designated box and scan a QR code to earn a 20% Target Circle Bonus for new car seats or baby gear. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Artist Yvonne Wan, creator of Focus Comics which features one of the world’s first autistic heroes, will host a free art program for children of heroes—first responders, military, autistic and special needs youth ages 6–21—from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Glendale Main Library. Students will use free art supplies and receive gifts upon completing their projects. Glendale Independent
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Cornerstone Healing Center opened two supportive housing facilities in Glendale in late February to support patients in its intensive outpatient program. The new facilities—which include a women’s house with nine beds and a men’s house with 12—offer stable, free housing to remove barriers to recovery. Glendale Independent
- ➤ After triple-digit temperatures last week, Circle the City's street medicine teams provided water and IV supplies to homeless people in areas including Glendale — where many faced dehydration. The organization is planning its Heat Relief 2025 plan to help lower the 602 heat-related deaths reported last summer in Maricopa County. AZ Family
