CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Arizona libraries now offer a free culture pass that lets families visit museums and arts sites throughout the state — the program is designed to help students and low-income households access summer arts education experiences. The pass is available to anyone with a library card at more than 175 libraries statewide. Glendale Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Glendale City Council is exploring a plan to help community groups repair and refurbish the gravestones of 16 Mexican farmer nationals buried in the city cemetery — city staff will study headstone options, associated costs, and possible plot ownership transfers after councilmember Bart Turner raised the issue. The council has not made an official decision and will work with community groups and the Historical Society to determine next steps. The Glendale Star

- ➤ Heroes Regional Park in Glendale will host the 25th Annual Arizona VisionWalk on April 5 to raise $107,000 for research in gene therapy, stem cells, and drugs that may help restore sight. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with the walk starting at 9:30 a.m. — the free, family-friendly event will include kids' activities, refreshments, and live entertainment. Glendale Independent

- ➤ Diversified Partners will host a ceremonial groundbreaking for Shops at the Cardinal at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 in Glendale’s sports and entertainment district near State Farm Stadium that is open to the public, and the nine-acre project is nearly fully leased and will include a mix of restaurants and retail shops with grand openings planned for early 2026.
