- ➤ A new nearly 2-acre QuikTrip gas station and convenience store is under construction at 8251 W. - ➤ The Glendale City Council is studying if fireworks threaten public safety by reviewing a 40-hour study of environmental impacts and emergency response strains as part of a special agenda item requested by councilmember Lupe Conchas; if the study shows a ban is feasible, residents will later vote on a charter change—Mayor Jerry Weiers doubts the proposal will gain traction.
