- ➤ At its March 25th workshop, the Glendale City Council approved a study on a fireworks ban after council member Lupe Conchas worked hard to end fireworks use — the study will decide if a ban can go into effect. Glendale Independent

- ➤ LaDessa Forrest was named as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Valley of the Sun Rehabilitation Hospital on March 25, a 75-bed inpatient facility in Glendale that holds disease-specific certifications in stroke, brain injury, amputee, and cardiac rehabilitation—she led hospitals in Albuquerque and Richardson before coming here. Forrest earned an MBA from Western Governors University, a doctorate from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, and a bachelor’s degree from Newman University while becoming a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Affinius Capital LLC announced a loan on March 25 that helped fund three buildings with high ceilings, many truck docks and a court for basketball-pickleball—built for industrial tenants with easy access to major roads.
