Glendale saw new business openings this week as Ally Pediatric Therapy opened its branch at 5701 W.
Talavi Blvd offering autism support, Toy Plaza opened a location at Arrowhead Towne Center, and Lakay Caribbean Market held its grand opening on March 22 at 5008 W. Northern Ave. Trinity Chiropractic rebranded as Trinity Advanced Health on March 8 at 18275 N. 59th Ave—adding more options for local families.
🎭 Culture
Glendale readers can look forward to the 2025 Phoenix Film Festival starting Thursday in Phoenix at Harkins Scottsdale 101 theaters at 7000 E.
Mayo Blvd. where independent films (over 200 selections from 1,300 submissions including local talent) will be shown; the festival will also feature Kids Day on March 30 and a special reunion screening of Platoon with Oliver Stone and cast.
🎓 Education
West Valley area high school seniors have signed letters of intent or made verbal commitments to join various college athletic programs in sports such as football, volleyball, and baseball.
Athletic directors, students, and parents may email Richard Smith for updates or corrections—ensuring the signings list stays accurate.
🏛️ Government
Today, the Glendale City Council held a workshop at 12:30 p.m. at the Civic Center to discuss a possible ban on fireworks because they can cause fires and air and water pollution.
Council member Lupe Conchas asked for a review of fire calls, costs and legal options — the council did not vote on the idea.
