- ➤ Times Media Group has acquired Moser Community Media's portfolio of 32 community newspapers — expanding its presence into Texas while preserving local newsroom voices. The transaction will become effective March 2. The Glendale Star
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Arizona rose by 7 cents this week to $3.26 a gallon, and in Phoenix they reached $3.47, AAA Arizona said. Refineries have begun making summer-blend gasoline (which uses pricier additives) to curb evaporation as spring break travel will boost demand next month. Glendale Independent

- ➤ On Feb. 26, the Glendale Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit for a self defense training facility in a 4,700 sqft space at Citadelle Plaza. The center will offer classes using laser or CO2-powered simulated firearms and will not use live ammunition. Glendale Independent
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The 100 Club of Arizona launches its Firefighter Cancer Prevention Campaign to fund cancer-reducing StormStick decontamination systems on Glendale firetrucks, with the local department needing nine more systems.
