The Guest Artist Series, for the month of November is excited to host Michael Nigro. A friend, collaborator, and Tucson guitarist with an international performing career. Join us for a fun afternoon of music!!

Bio:

As an international concert artist, Michael Nigro has performed concerts and given master classes at universities, performing arts centers, church concert series, guitar societies, festivals and museums throughout the United States and abroad. His international tours have taken him to Argentina, Chile, France, Bulgaria, Mexico, Greece, and the Philippines. As a recording artist, Michael’s discography includes six CDs; three solo recordings, two collaborations featuring flute and guitar, and the debut recording of the Tucson Guitar Quartet, Latin American Soundscapes.

Michael served for 12 years as Assistant Professor of Music at Vanguard University, where he established a comprehensive guitar program and mentored numerous accomplished students. He is also co-author of The Classical Guitar Scale Book, published by Mel Bay Publications. Michael currently teaches at Leman Academy of Excellence in Tucson, Arizona, where he teaches classical guitar to middle school scholars. He also maintains an active private teaching studio, providing individual classical guitar instruction both in person and via Zoom to students locally and internationally.
