FULL - Care Packages for U.S. Troops

Residents are invited to join us on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 8 - 10 a.m. at Surprise Community & Resource Center, 12641 W. Santa Fe Dr.

Volunteers of all ages can take part in projects that show gratitude and provide encouragement to deployed service members. Activities will include making holiday care packages, decorating holiday boxes and writing holiday cards. This event is hosted in partnership with Youth for Troops.

Donation Drive

In preparation for this Day of Service event, the City is also hosting a donation drive. From October 19 through November 6, 2026, community members are encouraged to donate any of the items below at our three collection sites:

• Hot sauce bottles (2 - 4 oz.)

• Chewing gum/Mints

• Game/Puzzle books (Dollar Tree)

• Rice Krispies treats

• Individually wrapped beef jerky

• Individual packs of peanuts/almonds

• Lip balm

• Sunscreen (travel-size)

• Toothpaste (travel-size)

• Body wash (travel-size)

• Foot powder (travel-size)

• Deodorant (travel-size)

Collection sites: All collection sites will be closed on Veterans Day, November 11.

• Asante Library (16755 W. Vereda Solana Dr.) • Monday – Wednesday | 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

• Thursday – Saturday | 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

• Toyota Surprise (13543 N. Autoshow Ave.) • Monday - Friday | 8:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

• Sunday | 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

In addition, unwanted Halloween candy will be accepted at the Day of Service event, November 7, at the Surprise Community & Resource Center.
